Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Design Consultation, E Design and Full Service Interior Design? A Design Consultation is a one time, in person or virtual consultation, ideal for quick advice on a project you are planning. E Design offers detailed design packages for single rooms that you are able to implement on your own. Full service Interior Design typically involves larger scale projects, comprehensive design documentation, project management, site visits and often cabinetry and furniture procurement.
How much do your design services cost? Design Consultations start at $625 + HST for 2 hours. E Design and Full Service Interior Design have an associated design fees tailored specifically to each project. The fee is determined when we develop the scope of work during the Discovery Phase. For starting points, E Design packages start at $2,500 per room while Full Service Interior design starts at $4,500 per room.
When should I reach out to your team to start the process? The sooner the better! If you are thinking about involving our team in your project for either interior design, custom cabinetry or furnishings it's best to involve us from the very start.
How long does a typical design project take? We move with the pace of the project. E Design projects typically take three to six weeks from start to finish. From there, the timeframe for implementation is up to you. Full Service Interior Design projects can take anywhere from four months to four years to complete, depending on the level of detail, the size of the home, and the builder’s timeline.
What area do you serve? We offer Full Service Interior Design, custom cabinetry and furnishings to clients across South Western Ontario, focusing mainly on Cambridge, Waterloo, London, Chatham, Windsor, Leamington and Sarnia. Our E Design, as well as Design Consultations are available to anyone, regardless of location.
What is the lead time on your custom cabinetry? Our typical turn around is 8 to 10 weeks from time of order to delivery. We are able to provide you with a 2 week installation window at time of order to ensure scheduling lines up.
Do I need to find my own installer for your cabinetry? No, we prefer to have our qualified team of installers professionally install your cabinetry. That way there are no concerns with warranty issues.
Do I need to purchase cabinetry from your studio if you are providing me with design services? No. We discuss preferred vendors in our bidding and implementation stage. If our cabinetry is not the best fit for your project, we relinquish this portion of the project to be managed by your preferred cabinet company. We are happy to see the remainder of your project through as your interior designer.
How do I get a quote for your custom cabinetry? We first need to design your space in order to accurately quote our cabinetry. If you come with a detailed design, including all materials and measurements we are able to provide you with a quote. If you need a design, we are able to walk you through that process with INDEX Design Studio.
